What is EVS ?

The European Volunteer Service is a Project insert in the European Commission’s Youth Programme (Action 2). Represents an opportunity for the youngsters to take advantage of the benefits of the non-formal education trough the actions of international volunteer. EVS offers the youngsters the opportunity to develop volunteer activities in a lot of different areas.

When the volunteer participate in the EVS Project, he puts his time and effort at the service of a project that will benefit the local community, in exchange of the opportunity to exercise his skills, acquire cultural and social capital and prepare him self to the future. 

The activities developed in the EVS project obey to the following general principles:

• Take place in a country that is not the one where the volunteer lives;
• Are programmed, made and followed in a spirit of partnership between the volunteer and the sending and hosting associations
• Add value to the hosting organization and to the local community
• Do not substitute the remunerated job, the military service or alternative forms of volunteer
• Count with the participation of, at least, one State-Member of the European Union.
